What is this?
We have some books available for loan thanks to some friendly publishers. We are also accepting donations to build up a library – please contact the organizers if you’d like to donate.
How does this work?
We will start with just loaning out copies at each meeting, with the expectation that each member will return their copies at the next month’s meeting. Maybe we could have a “waiting list” type page on the wiki if there is a lot of demand for certain titles.
Books available for loan:
- Ruby Cookbook this is a great recipe-based book for Ruby. Over 800 pages of goodness. Includes chapters on metaprogramming, regular expressions, web services, database libraries, and even one on Rails.
- Ruby on Rails: Up and Running – Looks to be a nice high level intro to get up to speed with rails quickly.
- RJS Templates For Rails – We have a copy of this PDF that we can “loan” out to members.
- We have a couple copies of the first edition of the Agile book. These would be great for anyone who is very new to Rails and doesn’t mind starting out with the older edition.
